The Legendary Ingramettes

Founded by the late, great matriarch Maggie Ingram, this phenomenal gospel group has endured more than five decades. Now led by Maggie’s daughter the Rev. Almeta Ingram-Miller, the group carries on the commanding, spirit-filled performances that demonstrate the extraordinary depth of talent in American gospel music. The Ingramettes are gospel icons in Virginia and have received numerous awards, including the prestigious Virginia Heritage Award in 2009. The Virginia Folklife Program’s production of Maggie Ingram and the Ingramettes: Live in Richmond received the Independent Music Awards fan’s choice award for Gospel Album of the Year in 2012.
Linda & David Lay

Vocalist Linda Lay spent her early childhood playing music with her father in a family band and many a Saturday night at the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virginia. After 15 years with the group Appalachian Trail, Linda formed Springfield Exit with her husband, David. She is recognized as a Master Artist in traditional singing by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, and has performed with singers across several genres of music, from country’s Vern Gosdin and Carl Jackson to Piedmont blues singer John Cephas. Raised in the tradition of Southern gospel, David nimbly switched from bass to guitar for the group, becoming a versatile rhythm player at ease with a wide range of musical styles.
